A dear friend invited us to Easter dinner today, and since there are going to be 21 people there, I decided to take a little treat for everyone. I saw something similar to these on Pinterest, so I improvised and created my own "Easter Lambs" that hold a Reese's peanut butter egg. I used an assorted lot of cardstock, colors, ribbons and twine.
This side view shows how perfectly these eggs sit inside the treat holders.
I used the SU! scalloped top tag punch to make these, cutting 2 strips 2"x5-3/4" and scored on the bottoms at 1". Adhere one bottom over the other on the scored bottoms, but I added a little "box" of matching card to hold the egg in the bottom. That piece is 2"x3", scored on each side at 1/2". Snip the score lines on each of 2 long sides, adding glue to the small ends. Fold the small ends in; making a little tray, then adhere it to the bottom of the treat holder. I added some double sticky tape to the long sides of the tray to stabilize it to the inside of the treat package so they stand on their own. Add candy, tie with some ribbon and twine and decorate. The lamb's face was done with a scalloped circle punch, an oval punch, a boho blossom punch, word window punch, and the owl punch for the eyes - all by SU!. I did use another SU! floral blossom punch to make some of the larger ears, but I liked the smaller ears, so I did most of them with the word window punch. The little sentiment panel was a free digi from Sans design that I sized to 1", colored with Copics, and matted with a SB small scalloped circle die with matching or coordinating cardstock. I embossed some tags with a SU! decorative dots ef, while some were embossed cardstock which saved a lot of time.
With all of these snippets, you know I'm heading to the Snippets Playground #222 to share. I hear poor little Parsnip has been covered with chocolate! Maybe he's just trying to be the Easter bunny this year???
Thanks for stopping by and have yourselves a wonderful Easter if you celebrate.
Carol
