Hot Summer Colors

Over at the August Penny Black Saturday challenge, they're asking for "hot summer colors." I colored this PB image with Copics, adding some colorful snippets of red polka dot papers to the background in 4 different sizes. The aqua panel was a printed border from the edge of the dsp snippets. I die cut the image panel with Lil Inker stitched rectangles and matted with a random snippet of green cardstock. The sentiment is by LOTV.

I hope you're staying cool where you live - we're getting a little break from the humidity today, and I'll take it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

  3. You did such a nice job with this one. I like the mound you have him standing on and I love the way the flower matches the red dotted paper. Our humidity is down a bit today, but the temp is 85°. Tomorrow the humidity is suppose to drop quite a bit. Enjoy the somewhat nicer weather in your area.

  7. I love this delightful image, Carol, your colouring is great, especially the red flower. I love the red dotty paper strips too.
Thank you for your nice comments on my blog, In response to you wondering about how I stick the very flimsy die cuts, I usually use a quickie glue pen and then hold it down gently till it sticks.

  8. Adore this sweet little mouse with his flower 'brolly and buddy. Nice grounding too. You already know my feeling about the stitchy stuff, and I love the way you've used the polka dot strips - tucking in the patterned one as a surprise. Terrific for the Snippets and ditto for the PB Allsorts. Definitely in the hot summer colors category. TFS & Hugs

  12. It is hardcore sweater weather here! That's inside the building. Outside it is 100+ with humidity and smoke. Can't win for losing here but this card isn't a loser. It is very awesome. I love the stripes of polka dot paper. Or should that be the strips of polka dot paper?

  14. Thank you for joining out August Penny Black Challenge!

A little late getting around but wanted to say thanks again for joining us with this cutie. It snowed on the mountain here last night and last week it was 95 degrees...go figure. Have you listened to Rob yet?
