Pet Sympathy Card

A friend of mine recently had to put her beloved Rottweiler down, and I wanted to make a card for her to let her know I care. I googled for silhouette images and found this one, so I printed it out and added some Copic color around it. The background is a soft aqua color, and I stamped it with brilliance ink using a pawprint stamp. The rainbow was done with scraps to represent the "rainbow bridge" where dogs go to play after their life on earth is done. I put one tiny heart on the image because it just looked like it belonged there.

I'm entering this into the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #245 which is to create a rainbow.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your Tuesday is a great one.

Carol

  3. Aww gorgeous card. It is always so sad when one loses a pet...they are a member of the family as much as a human being and best of all they don't spill the beans on any of the conversations you have with them.
    Great card.
    Hugs

  4. It saddens me so much to hear that a "baby" has crossed over the bridge. They are so very precious, I wish they could live forever. This card will certainly help your friend in a big way. I love the way you colored around the silhouette image and you are totally right, that heart does belong there. Perfect, caring card. Have a fun day creating more love for people.

  13. Carol, your lovely card is so perfect for your friend who is missing her faithful friend. I knew right a way that the rainbow represented the "Rainbow Bridge" I like how you did the shadows around the sweet rottweiler. I hope your friend's Rottie is playing with my many boxers, who have gone to the bridge, having a fun time. Your friend will cherish this special card you have made for her.

Thank you for joining us in the Speedy Fox and Friends challenge.

  16. A truly wonderful card for this situation. Love that you managed to use that fab stitched die to make the rainbow bridge. And the tiny red heart was just perfect. Ditto the subtle pawprint stamping on the blue dp. Your friend will be comforted by this. TFS & Hugs
