I'm working on a box of Christmas cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive, and decided to make use of those left-over strips of dsp that I can't bear to throw away. I wove them together for the background of this card! I die cut a piece of white with a SB labels 25, drawing around the inside of the die with a black marker before cutting. The mat was hand cut by tracing around the outside of the die and fussy cutting. I punched a couple ornaments using a SU! mini punch and strung them with silver stickers. The sentiment is from SU!
If you have any Christmas cards to spare, I hope you'll consider sending some to this worthy cause. They go to elderly nursing home residents, and I'm sure they're well received!
I'm sharing these over at the Snippets Playground #146 since they were both made with leftover scraps of dsp!
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!
Carol
Great use of snippets on both of these cards. Love the paper weaving and that very very pretty patterned paper! Two fabulous cards.

ReplyDeleteBoth are gorgeous! the first one had a little more visual pop maybe because the ornaments mimick the papers? Thanks for reminding me of this technique!

THese are incredible!! I've tried paper weaving but never like this - LOVE LOVE LOVE!
ReplyDeleteI really like both of these and the use of paper strips you. I saved a bunch of Halloween ones because they looked so cool together and thought about doing something like this. By the time I get around to doing it though I won't have any left... the cats steal a strip or two every night to wreck havoc with.
ReplyDeleteOh what clever use of snippets. Wonderful cards Carol - and also for a very good cause.
