Friday Cards

Here's my card for the Words 2 Scrap by W2SB2 challenge to use the world colors of the Olympic flag. This one was so easy to put together using snippets of left-over cardstock in those 5 Olympic colors! I added punched borders in black along with a CAS-ual Friday's sentiment which ties in with the idea of competing in the games. I also used the CAS(E) this sketch #62 to put this together, but as usual, that challenge is now closed........sigh.

This card was made for the MFTWSC162. I'm currently adding to my stash of masculine cards for OWH so this is headed there in my next box. I used some great Pebbles papers I picked up at a discount store recently and thought they worked well with this sketch. I threw in a piece of cherry cobbler cardstock for one of the banners, adding assorted star brads with red & blue gem stones from my stash. The sentiment was done with MFT alpha stamps.

That's going to do it for me on this Friday. I hope you have a fantastic day and thanks for stopping by!

That's a bright banner card up top there. I like the simple black borders to line all that color. I absolutely adore the My Dad card. Great colors and a fun design.

Great card Carol - just perfect for the Winter Olympics too. Mrs A is praying for snow in the Playground so she can ski down the tree house roof and see how far she goes. Probably just as far as the duck pond knowing her :)

The first card is just great with those Olympic colors and the punch border, but the sentiment is ideal. I love it. I also adore the second card. Those little gems scattered around are great. Any Dad would be proud to get this card. It is very cold here so I'm assuming you've got cold weather also. Try to stay warm.

Carol, Your Dad card is wonderfully patriotic -- perfect for a hero to send home to his/her dad. (And, who doesn't love that SU Cherry Cobbler?!)And, I adore your Olympic card. Your colourful strip reminds me of a sash that might appear on the Opening Ceremony outfit of a participating nation's athletes. Thanks so much for playing along at W2SB!

Love your Olympic colors card! The sentiment you chose is perfect for the challenge, and your use of scraps reminds me of the ribbons that hold the medals. Great job! Thanks for playing along with us at Words2ScrapBy.blogspot.com!!!

#1 is stunning, and how perfect to fit your theme. That is a wonderful simple design that really grabs the eye, and loved the thin filigree border. Perfect sentiment too. #2 is another heartcatcher. I can just imagine some child sending this to his military Dad...with those patriotic colors. Love the way you use the banners! TFS & hope the snow is behaving itself. Happy wkend, stay warm. Hugs

Great cards (as always). Love to read your blog and see how many cards you make for these great causes!

PS A certain little girl is crocheting a dishcloth for her Mum for Valentines day. It is half finished and looks pretty good.
