Hot Pink & Black

I made this card for the Dynamic Duos #87 which is to use hot pink & black. I made this card entirely from scraps in my bin after I started rooting for some hot pink colors. The papers are from PTI, while the white is a pearl card stock I've had for a long time. The heart was done with a Sizzlet (click to enlarge for embossing details) in white, pink and black, and I hand-cut the 2 smaller hearts for layering. The word "love" was done with a Quickutz die. I liked this color combination enough to make a 2nd card....

I used some Coredinations cardstock for the hearts, running them through a paper crimper and sanding to show the pale pink inside. The bottom layer is a torn snippet of smoky slate, also run through the crimper and swiped with a matching inkpad. The sentiment is from MFP and the flowers and brad are from my stash.

With all the snippets I used here, I'm also taking these cards over to the Snippet Playground #109 - and this time I made it before the gates closed!!

Have yourself a great Monday and stay warm!!

Carol

  1. These are 2 great cards. Now I love #1's bright sizzle, but I'm really liking #2 for the way you distressed the rectangle edge and your hearts with the bright flower topper. Brillant. TFS & Hugs

  9. Oy, the last thing I need is another heart, but that sure is a cute die, Carol! I love that color combo, too. Love both of your cards!! And, hey look, didn't I just say recently that crimpers would be making a comb back? That's like a comb over, only longer. See you behind the bike shed and don't forget your money this time!! Hugs, Darnell

  11. Two stunners Carol! LOVE the hot pink and black and I'd fight Mrs A for either of them :)

So funny, I was looking at my crimper the other day wondering whether I'd ever use it again :) And what's this about money behind the bike sheds and Darnell?!!

  14. These are beautiful. I did not know about this project you have listed on your blog. What a great job she does to collect that many cards. I will keep this in mind when |I| make cards this year.

Both your cards look lovely. The second one calls out to me as I love the crimped, grungy, beauty of it!
