Here's my card for the sketch at MFTWSC160. I dug deep into my stash of retired papers and used some masculine colors and patterns along with an old vintage car image from clear art stamps. I colored the image with ink and a blending pen, (yep, I still have one of those!) and made the sentiment with my Quickutz. The finishing touch was adding some candi dots and I can add this one to my masculine stash for father's day cards.
This card was made using the Mod Squad Challenge which is to use "wood" on your card. I don't have any actual wooden elements, but I used some woodgrain dsp and used a fun image where the hens and frog are sitting on a log. The papers are all leftover snippets from "on the bright side two" by MME and I matted everything with scraps of dark teal cardstock. I added some googlie eyes to the frog just for fun, and the tiny banners were done with a SU! banner blast punch. Since this card was made with snippets, I'm headed over to the Snippets Playground #108 to have some fun with the other players.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I may have more later today since I've been cooped up in the house with all the snow and bitter cold weather. What else is there to do but stamp and make cards?
Have a fabulous day!!
Carol
Your Father's Day card is super. Love the old car. That SU retired paper was always my favorite because of the texture. I still have some left, too. Hoarding it. Ha
ReplyDeleteYour second card is too fun with that googly eyed frog and those cluckers sitting on the log. How funny!
what an awesome masculine card! so fantastic!

I agree wholeheartedly with Di's comment above on your cards!
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy. xxx
Both are great! Love that first one and it's so perfect for a guy. I actually have some of that DP too! And.....still love it. Guess I'm hoarding it or something since I haven't used it in so long.
ReplyDeleteThe chicks and frog....too cute for words!!!! LOVE IT!
Stay warm!
Lynn
Love both of the cards. The car brings back memories. Back in my era. The frog and bug eyes (my term for them) are cute. made me smile.
ReplyDeleteLove both of your cards. The Dad card is a perfect masculine card and I am still "hoarding" some of it also. The hen & froggie card is so cute. Love the wiggly eyes on the frog.
ReplyDeleteThe blue and brown on your masculine card looks wonderful, and the PB stamp with the googly frog is too cute. Now that Blogger has stopped playing games, I may be able to enter a few challenges. Best of luck with your entries!
ReplyDeleteWonderful masculine cards. That is such a cute image with all the hens too.
ReplyDeleteBoth are wonderful cards, Carol, could not pick a favorite! And you are so right. I even made my first card in a while...I guess being cooped up in the house due to all the snow and bitter cold does have some perks...smile.
ReplyDeleteMy DH would be loving this car card. He is an old car buff (also hotrods, which I think are UG-LEE. I do like the old cars though). This looks like a Ford to me, and you chose the perfect colors as I remember this particular vintage. Can't top this one for dude card. Wonderful. And your chickens & frog made me laugh. I've seen the Art Impressions chicks, but never seen one that had the frog on it. Loved the layout & your idea for the wood element worked great. You really get a lot done when it snows! Good for you. After all that snow shoveling you were doing, I'd have been restin' & nappin'. Stay warm. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteCarol, two very nice cards form you here today - well always. I love the colors and papers on your first card. So nice and masculine. Your second cards if just darling and I'm still laughing about it. I'm laughing because last week when Alli came home, I guess she was bored and she put googly eyes on every single thing in our refrigerator. When we got home and opened the fridge, there were about 50 pairs of eyes starring at us. so your card made me smile for a couple of reasons. Enjoy the day
ReplyDeleteYour cards are fabulous! I love, love the old car card! Fabulous for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove those googly eyes, too cute! Thanks for playing along in our challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteYou've been a card making whirlwind! Both these cards are awesome. Blue and brown make great masculine cards and this one is no slouch. The googlie eyed frog made me laugh. Great way to get the wood on your card with the paper and the log. You're a smart cookie!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I just love that woodgrain paper! It looks just like the old red barn next door to me! Thanks for playing along with our "Mod Squad" challenge!
ReplyDeleteAwesome....amazing masculine cards which are so challenging for me! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Mod Squad!
