Lawnscaping Challenge for September

I thought I'd play along with the Lawnscaping Challenge #65 for September with this card that uses a few of my favorite things: Lawn Fawn Winter Snow Bunny, Copics, Top Note die, and herringbone technique.

This is Lawn Fawn's Winter Bunny, and I just love this little guy! I colored him with Copics and added him to a background I made with the herringbone technique. I used left-over snippets of Christmas dsp, and I find it completely relaxing to create one of these. After putting it together, I cut it with a top note die, and then embossed it with a Sizzix snow globe embossing folder to add more texture. A few square gold brads were added, along with some faux stitching around the edges. The narrow ribbon and gold cording are from my stash. Oh yes, and I added a dab of liquid applique to his tiny tail, let it dry, and then hit it with the heat gun to fluff it up :) A cute bunny's got to have a tail, right? :)

I'm also entering this into the Snippets Playground #89 since I used all those leftover strips of dsp.

Wishing you sunny skies, and a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Carol

  1. This is fabulous Carol - a perfect Christmas card. I have the same Lawn Fawn stamp safely here as you know :)

Please do link into the Playground, the gates open again at midnight UK time - if you're first you might like to dry the swings and slide down 'cos it supposed to rain later on this evening :)

  7. Thanks for popping back carol...I did finally get some photos downloaded. It was scary cuz I am so computer illiterate and even more so in Windows 8.
Somehow I managed to wipe out the pop up window that allows you to chose which images to import, and I was having to import everything every time and then delete the extras...ugh!
I finally figured out how to get it back and so at last I have some photos to post...You might get sick of my trip befor long though! lol

  8. You are a master at that herringbone technique and I like that quite often you also embossing the herringbone. It give it so much texture and really make it pop. That image is just darling and I love that thin ribbon also. Terrific job, Carol. Enjoy your Sunday.
