I made these cards a while ago and thought I'd share them today. I found a background I'd made and never used, so I cut it into 2 pieces and made 2 cards much like these cards I posted recently. I apparently was trying a new technique and just tossed the finished result into a box of unfinished projects, but I'm happy I was able to finally use them. If memory serves me correctly, I sponged the colors onto cardstock, and then dipped the SU! doily punch into bleach or spritzed it with water and stamped it onto the sponged panel. The finished look was pleasing to me, but I couldn't figure out how to use the background until I decided to split it into 2 pieces. The border was done with a Fiskars flower punch, and the ornament punch from the SU! mini punch pak I got from last year's holiday catalog. I decided those mini ornaments make nice leaves, so I used scraps of green to create the greenery. I added a drop of liquid pearls to the centers, and embossed the SU! More Merry Wishes sentiment with gold embossing powder.
Here's the 2nd card, and I switched this up a bit by adding various shades of green for the leaves.
Since I used scraps I'm adding this to Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground #83.
Have you started making Christmas cards yet? Instead of packing away my Christmas stamp supplies until fall like I used to do, I've been making Christmas cards all year long, and I have quite a stash finished already. As Martha would say....."That's a good thing!"
Have yourself a great day!
Carol

ReplyDeleteI've got quite a stash of Christmas cards made, too. They are my favorite to make.
Yep, that's "a good thing" for sure! Love this one and that technique you used for the background paper really sets off the entire card.
