Pink & Black

Here's a card I made for the CASology #39 challenge where the cue card word is "travel." I paper pieced this A Muse art stamp called "doggie bag" with some pink striped dsp and used the SU! tag punches with a piece of matching ribbon. The sentiment is by Hero Arts, and I thought this would be a fun card for OWH soldiers to send home to their families.

Lately, I've been loving pink & black together, and today's OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown is to use our favorite color combination. My all-time favorite combo is purple & green, but I can't make every card with those colors, so I move on to new favorites all the time. Here's my current fav....

I won't even mention how long this card took to put together, but I made some good use of pink & black scraps! I used the SU! hexagon ef and hand-cut all those hexes and placed them into the embossed background. I don't know why, but I always enjoy doing intricate work like this. It's very time consuming, but I find it relaxing! I used some pretty in pink dsp, a SB labels 18 die with white pearl card stock, and a SB fancy tags 2 die cut for the sentiment panel. I used some pink polka dot ribbon along with pink twine and a Sweet'n Sassy sentiment.

I'm also entering this into Pixie's Crafty Snippet Playground #67 since I used mostly scraps to put this together!

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Carol

  5. Your doggie card is so sweet and as adorable as a card can be...

Pink and black is my very favorite combo. So now you're in my territory...It takes me forever to make a card. My card for the lady who was my Mother's best friend, took me four evenings to make. Not that I'm slow or anything...LOL
Great job with all that cutting.

  10. Ah, Carol, what fun! Your sweet little traveling dog is exactly why Webster invented the word "chortle!" So I thank you for the chortle and the opportunity to bring it back into everyday usage. It's a cool word. You can't really say it without doing it!
