Birds and Heroes

Here's my entry for the OWH Midweek Throwdown which is to make a card for a hero. I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Bigz die for the flag, and added a sentiment done with a Hero Arts stamp and some navy ink. I cut the flag in red & white, and added the white stripes to the red panel. I hand-cut the blue field and added some tiny die-cut stars from a SNSS border die. The final touch was some gold Stickles to the flag pole. I'll hand-write a message inside and this will get tucked into my next OWH for an "any hero" card.

Here's the cue card for the CASology challenge #4.

And here's my CAS card using the word "bird" for inspiration. This image and sentiment came from a G Studio Easter stamp set, but I masked off part of the sentiment to use only the part you see. I paper pieced the "peep" with dsp from the MME Six by Six Everyday Flair pack, and added 2 tiny strips of matching dsp for interest, as well as matting the image. I added a few Copic touches of color for the feathers and beak, as well as 2 tiny gemstones from Want2Scrap. This will also get tucked into my next OWH box, and I hope some child gets a big smile on his/her face when this card is received from a parent serving halfway around the world.

Thanks for stopping by today and make it a great Wednesday!

Carol

Also love your Casology bird card. I missed the deadline by a few hours today for mine. I mistakenly thought it was midnight, not noon. :\
