Stars & Stamps Sketch 124 - for a Hero

Here's my card for this week's Stars & Stamps sketch challenge #124. I used BG Granola dsp along with some chocolate brown and cream colored cardstock. The sentiment was done with an AMuse set, and colored with a B21 Copic marker after stamping in Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I cut it using a SB square swatch die and added some copper brads to the corners. The honeycomb background was done with a SB M-bossability So Trendy folder, and I added scalloped borders done with a SNSS scalloped border die. The brown twill is from my stash. This will be an any hero card going into my next box. I decided that all hero cards don't necessarily need to be red, white, & blue, so I'm trying to use some other colors.
Here's this week's sketch...

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday so far, and thanks ever so much for spending a few minutes of you day with me here. :-)

  3. I love blue and brown together. (Even have them in sea glass in my bathroom tile.) I also love all the textures and agree that it's probably nice to switch things up from red, white, and blue for hero cards! Super job!

  5. Carol, what a nice card. I love the background paper also. I agree with you on the colors of any hero cards. I send quite a few in other colors because I feel that some of our heroes may get sick of receiving the same colors all the time. Talk to you soon.

  12. I had it in mind for the longest time that hero cards should be patriotic colors, so much so that I didn't even recognize the stamp you used that I also own! I think you made a gorgeous card. Thanks for a push in the direction of other color combinations!
