Holly Wreath

I wanted to make another front-door card with a Christmas wreath hanging on it, only this time I used Holly leaves to make the wreath. I used lots of colorful snippets of green and red cardstock that were die-cut with Poppystamps stitched holly and berry leaves dies. The cardstock is "French Mints" by Bazzill Basics, and I popped up the door panels with foam tape. The sentiment is by SU! and the doorknob is a dot of gold stickles.

I'm sharing this over at the Snippets Playground #246.

Today, September 11, 2016, is the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the USA that took so many innocent lives, and I hope you'll take a minute of your day to remember, reflect, and keep those innocent victims in your hearts and prayers. I will never forget that horrific day and how it changed the world forever.

This morning I thought to this date, too... Time flies, but the human's horrors doesn't stop. This makes me very sad.
Your front-door card is lovely, and the wreath you made with snippets looks very well. Love these stitched leaves and berries!
Hugs my friend! Take care

I love this front door card and your stitched holly leaves. they make such a nice wreath. Great idea for the door knob also. I can remember just about every single moment of that horrible day 15 years ago. We had friends that had a daughter that was a stewardess on the United Flight. Her dad and Jack actually watched her plane go into the tower together while at work. She was not suppose to fly that day but someone called in sick so she went in for her friend. Horrific!!!!!

I love your door card Carol, the wreath made from holly leaves turned out fabulous! Like many people, I will never forget 9/11, how we were attacked on our own soil. It was so surreal. But I was so proud of my country that day. How people pulled together to help one another, how the people on the one plane decided that these terrorists weren't taking any other lives besides the ones on that plane-so they took that plane down in a PA field. All the innocent lives taken that day and those who were saved. I relived it all this morning watching and listening to it all over again. Gave me the chills, but like I said, it also made me proud to be an American that day too. Yes, the terrorists tried to take a lot away from us, but they didn't succeed! Instead Americans banded together and were as strong as we have ever been!!! We will never let terrorists win, ever! And we will never forget....Hugs, Brenda

Your card is gorgeous Carol. What a lovely idea. I think you may have set a trend with this one.

I don't think any of us will ever forget 9/11 or where we were when we heard that awful news. The world certainly did change on that day. Barbxx

Wonderful card Carol - I do so love the door panel idea with the pretty wreath. Really elegant.

Like so many of us, 9/11 is burned into my memory. Len was working at Reuters in London, surrounded by media screens and they were getting the breaking news - I was in an office in London somewhat cut off from it all and it was just surreal to speak to him on the phone about the latest developments that dreadful day. It sounds awful but it seemed like the very worst disaster movie come true. As people have said, things changed from then on.

Sorry I'm a bit late commenting, been a busy week so far here.

Hugs

I don't know how I missed this beauty but this is gorgeous, Carol!!! Love the door cards and how you created this beautiful holly wreath! I will definitely have to try to make another one of these cards for the upcoming holidays! Thanks for your inspiration, always!
9/11....a day I will never ever forget. So many things happened that day. I was watching the TODAY Show doing housework after I got the kids off to school....I had to sit and watch after the first plane hit. The helplessness and fear that set in was unimaginable. I pray this country will never have to endure a day like that again. Hard to believe that 15 years has gone by already, seems like yesterday. RIP to all those we lost and a huge Thank You to all the first responders and all those who protect & serve our country. A day we will NEVER forget!
