Blue Christmas

While listening to Elvis Presley's Blue Christmas on the radio, I was inspired to create this set of cards using Midnight Muse cardstock, white, and some silver embossing powder. All images are from Hero Arts, with the larger tree embossed with silver on white and fussy cut. The snow-covered hillsides were done with Lawn Fawn dies and covered on the edges with diamond stickles. The embossing folder is from SU! called softly fallen, and the sentiment is from Northwoods.

Here's a second version with different hillsides and a different Northwoods sentiment. This time the silver tree was popped up on foam tape.

This one makes use of another Hero Arts background; stamped twice side by side. I silver-embossed the larger tree image on some midnight muse cardstock; fussy-cut it, and covered the seam between backgrounds. I used a silver embossed punched star on top of the tree, along with 3 tiny silver die-cut  stars to fill in the space next to the sentiment.

I guess I can thank Elvis for the inspiration to make these cards, as I always have the radio show of his music playing on Sunday mornings :)

I'm sharing with the Snippets Playground #237 where the only requirement is to use snippets.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

I love how wispy the branches are, but of course the blue is my very favorite.

You have certainly shown this tree set off so beautifully in each version. (Thanks to you AND Elvis). Like your idea of double stamping the background to create a large enough stamping. Like the way you've 'shadowed' & sized the smaller trees too. What a perfect way to show off the focal tree. So pretty in the blue & white, with the snow hills. TFS

So delicate and elegant! I really like the lone pine in the forest scene but these are all quite striking with the fine embossing. Love 'em!

Two fabulous cards Carol and both such pretty designs with those geometric trees and sparkly snow slopes, and then the second with the slopes in the darker card and the cleverly extended background. Elvis gave you great inspiration. x
