Since it's been so cold here in PA this winter, I might as well just go with the flow and make Christmas cards until spring arrives :) I received this beautiful Darice snowflake swirl embossing folder in a blog candy prize package from
MaryH, and it makes the most beautiful Christmas cards effortlessly! I used the colors of pool party and island indigo, adding a felt snowflake, a punched snowflake and a matching brad. The border was done with a MS Skylands Snowflake border punch, and the ribbon is from PTI. The sentiment was done with an unmarked wooden stamp set.
And here it is done in red, white, and silver colors. Those felt snowflakes have been in my stash forever, and I'm happy to be using them.
I'm entering these cards into the
Rudolph Day February 2014 challenge, which is to make two Christmas cards. I'm also entering them into the
Shopping our Stash #140 challenge which is to use heavy metal. {snowflake brads}
Light snow is headed our way (again) today, and I'm tired of fighting it - so I've decided to join it! With these snowflake Christmas cards, I welcome the snow with open arms :)

LOL, it is snowing NOW as I type this---these cards are beautiful and now I am on a search for that gorgeous Darice folder!! You are an enabler for sure!
ReplyDeleteDespite the snow these cards are both really nice.The embossed background is beautiful and that snow flake is perfectly placed. makes it look like wind. Like the first one best because the color makes you almost feel the cold.

ReplyDeleteWow, don't think I've seen that EF used so stunningly. Love the different colors you chose for each card, and how it changed the 'feel' of each one. #1 was such an 'icy blast' yet the red was much warmer. Am loving your felt snowflakes too. That's something I've yet to try to die cut. Great cards and I'm really enjoying all the beautiful Rudolph inspiration tonight. Hope you're staying warm, and you can always fly south and we can set a spell on the porch while our brief warmth lasts. Even make us a cup of tea! TFS & Hugs
