CAS Color Blocks

Ever since I got the SU! banner punch, I've been thinking of other ways to use it besides making banners. When I saw the CAS-ual Friday's CFC126 challenge for "color blocks" I pulled out  lots of mini scraps of cardstock from my bin and just began punching. I lined them up to create 2 borders, then made a border from a SSS die, cut into one thin strip of stars. I die cut a black strip and inserted those tiny black stars into the white strip, added some colored gemstones and a birthday sentiment and called this card done. This is the 2nd CAS challenge I've entered this year, so I'm trying to improve my card-making skills to include more CAS cards.

Once the gates for the Snippets Playground #108 open, I'll be entering this card over there too!

Make it a fantastic weekend!!

Carol

I very nice CAS card. I'm trying to do more CAS myself. I swear it makes me twitch though. When I first came to your blog only about half the card loaded and I thought, "Upside down banners??" then the rest of the card showed up. That's a neat idea. That punch is on SU wish list for sure! I like the bright colors of your card.

Oh wow Carol, I am loving how you used this punch, it makes such a festive border! Great thinking out of the box! I always love when you can find more than one way to use a punch or a die.

I love seeing different ways to use dies and this is a winner. I love all the fabulous colors, Carol. They are eye-catchers. It's a wonderful CAS card.

Well, I'm back. I meant punches, not dies. Well, I love to see different uses of both. :-)

I just saw this SU punch and thought to self, "Now I'd never use that". Well, DUH! How well you've used it here on this bright card. Just goes to show how much I can learn about all I don't know! Love all the brights against the crisp white, with the dividing starry border. Also liked the spaced rhinestones that sparkled here & there. Fab card, Miz Carol. Nice to see you over at Pixie's Snippety Place. TFS & Hugs
