Encouraging and Christmas

The challenge over at the PSC42 Perfect Sentiments blog is to create a card with a sentiment for Christmas, Season's Greetings, Hannukah, etc. The sentiment must be on the front of the card. There's also a twist with the challenge to add a border - done with either a punch or a die. I used a SNSS large scalloped border die and just cut various pieces of dsp from the Lilybee Jingle Christmas pad (LOVE this paper) and alternated them until they covered about 1/3rd of the card. The MSE sentiment was embossed with gold ep, and I added a piece of pine-colored twill for the finishing touch.

Next is my card for the OWH mid-week throwdown. This week they're asking for cards of encouragement. The card I made yesterday would have been perfect for this challenge, but I made another one.
I used papers from the BG Marjolaine paper pad, adding a SU! sentiment to the circle panel. I added some faux stitching with a white gel pen and dotted the scallops on the circle as well. I made my own template for this card after being inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest.
That's going to do it for me for this Wednesday, so thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Carol, both cards are beautiful and that OWH card is especially gorgeous. I'm sure the stitching was time-consuming, but the final product is enviable. Great job!

More awesome cards, Carol. I really like how you altered the punched papers on the first card..fun and so pretty.

The second card is awesome...nice template you made. Reinds me of a sun beaming down. Super duper, my friend.

Carol, you just hit "my style" with the Christmas card!! It's perfect and I know I'll be CASEing it. Love the scallops on this - and it'll be great (and cheap) to mail!

Love the other card too with the pieces of DP like that! Great "stitching" too!

Love both of your cards & will definitely have to CASE them. The big scallops on the first one with the ribbon set the stage for the beautiful sentiment. And I like seeing a different take on the sunburst card; great dp choices and sentiment. Thank you for sharing these beautiful cards!
