A Sad Occasion for a Card

I received a call from my best friend asking me to make her a sympathy card. Her DH works with a single mom who lost her 10-yr old son in a freak bicycle accident over the weekend. It was difficult to make this card knowing the circumstances, but I added some bashful blue to the card since it was for a boy's mother. The flowers are from Technique Tuesday, stamped with CTMH gray wool, cut out and clear embossed. then popped up on foam squares. I added some Martha Stewart pearls and a diecut with a Sizzix swirl. The blue and white panels were done with the Nestabilities 10 labels, and the background was done with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is by MFS, also stamped with CTMH grey wool. The Bow-Easy was used to create the bow and the ribbon is SU's bashful blue.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to hug your loved ones tight!

Hey girl...Such a Sad time for that mom...I just cannot imagine what she must be going through...my prayers go out to her. Your card is perfect elegance with it's simple yet stunning message. Very, very appropriate in that I feel you made simple mean more! Thank you for sharing and Bless you for your kind thoughts to this grieving mom !

Oh Carol, I'm so sorry. I just can not imagine what she is going through. I will hug my Grandchildren tight, as well as my kids, and Jim. Beautiful card for a devastating event. It brought me softness, peace when I first viewed it, it will do the same for that young boy's family. Hugging you tight too, my friend!

How sweet and thoughtful you are to put so much love into this card. There is no pain as great as the one of losing a child. My parents ended up mere shells of themselves when my brother was killed, but I know that each card, letter and prayer card, was read over and over. Blue was just perfect.
