Switching to Christmas

I'm still working with snippets and trying to use them up on some cards. I started with a scrap of white and glued on squares of Christmas-themed papers and then die cut the panel with a GMD scalloped rectangle die. I also die-cut a Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake die from mirror red and gold cardstock and placed that over the top and added a pre-printed SSS sentiment.

After die-cutting the snippet panel, I decided to use the frame to make another card. This one has 3 smaller Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes and a KaiserCraft die-cut Christmas sentiment. I also stenciled some white snowflakes with a Heidi Swapp stencil.

I'll enter these cards into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Carol

  1. Two great Christmas cards and I like how you've used the left over frame to make the second one. Good work using up snippets.

  10. Love them, Carol! You always do amazing things with your snippets of paper! I love the patchwork done on the first card! Looks so pretty with that snowflake on top! The patchwork frame on the second is just lovely and lets the shiny paper sentiment steal the show! Great job as you must have quite the pile of Christmas cards all ready to go this season! Love, love, love!

  12. These cards are gorgeous Carol! I love that patchwork design you've created with the panel and also the fact that you were able to create TWO designs with the same left over piece! So I'm assuming you've cut each square and placed them over a panel and then die cut it? The LF snowflakes are my fave! They look so pretty with the red metallic!

  13. A fabulous way to use up snippets and a fabulous way to get 2 cards out of one! I love these Carol, they are so festive!! I haven't made a background like this in a long time, so I truly need to make some again and what better snippets than Christmas snippets! These are so fun! Love the white spots in the second card, a bokeh look which is fabulous. Hugs, Brenda

  14. I don't know if I love more the first or the second card, they are both so pretty!!! Surely your use of scraps is SO clever!! You founded just the perfect die to cut the panel and the leftover frame is adorable! Love the stencilled snowfall in the background of the second card, I thought that it was patterned paper :) Love the touch of shine with the mirri snowflakes and the Merry Christmas sentiment. Well done!!
Sending my hugs and love for the weekend!
