To start this card, I pulled out a SU! Woodland Textured embossing folder and embossed a piece of white cardstock. I used blending brushes, distress inks, and markers to add color to the trees and then used Copic markers to color the sky blue and add the haze of a sun on the corner. The birds were cut from small snippets of blue and an I.O. die. I added color to them with Copics and a black marker. The "Hello" sentiment is a die-cut by Taylored Expressions and I used 3 snippets of SSS orange peel cardstock and layered them for some dimension and bright color.
I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Happy Monday!
Your card is gorgeous, Carol! I love the embossing and your blending brush sponging of the sunshine and the blue sky between the trees! I don't think I have ever used ink on an embossing folder but I need to give this a try! Love the look! Your pretty birds and sentiment finish this card nicely! Another beauty! TFS and have a wonderful week ahead! :)

P.S. Forgot to replay to your comment: yes, I'm 60 years "young" now! I had a very quiet and private birthday, no need to make a party! :D

This is such a beautiful and detailed scene, Carol! Well done with those teeny tiny bluebirds and that amazing sun in the corner. The texture is amazing, too. (And, yes, now that you mention it, I do see Nellie! Good eye!) Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteA happy and bright hello card, how nice to receive such an uplifting card, it makes the soul sing. The embossed silver birch trees look fab with the sun nestled behind and the blue sky. The birdies are sweet and I guess if you did them in red, you'd have a great Christmas card too x
