Father's Day


I pulled out a piece of teal colored designer paper and embossed it with a Spellbinder's Kickin' Rubber embossing folder, then sanded it for a rustic look. I stamped the boots from SU!'s Country Living (r) stamp set, then colored them with Copics and fussy cut them to place on the stitched square die. I dug into my stash to find this SU! hodgepodge hardware ribbon piece, and attached it to the side; adding a snippet of tan checked ribbon. The sentiment is from SU!'s Teeny Tiny Wishes, heat-embossed with gold, and placed on a die-cut Lil Inker stitched banner.
This card is for my husband who had a pony as a kid, and horses as an adult (many years ago) but he still has a love for horses, so I stamped this horse image on the inside...


 That's a very old but favorite horse image stamp by Serendipity, stamped in Smoky Slate ink on a Soft Stone card base.

  8. Whoa, that embossing folder is awesome... loving that especially sanding it back for a distressed look. Fab cowies, I once owned a pair and honestly they were so comfortable and I loved them. I thought the horse image was a pencil drawing, it's mesmerising and your husband will definitely cherish this very personal and thoughtful card x

  12. What an awesome card, Carol! Butch is sure to love this!! The embossing on the front is amazing and I love the boots with the hardware & ribbon snippet on! I have a friend in Phoenixville that has had horses all her life. I try to send her cards with horses on when I remember her birthday! LOL Great masculine card, my friend!

  13. I'm sure that Butch has smiled so much seeing your lovely card you made for him, the horse inside is fabulous, I already admired it on other cards from you.
    The EF you used is stunning, I have never seen it before, and love your sanding! The topper with the boots and that amazing detail of hodgepodge hardware ribbon piece with the bow make the card so beautiful!!

  18. Oh Carol, I am so loving this card!! The embossing folder you used is so cool, goes perfect with the boot image, which you have colored up so well. My step father was a trucker, but always wore cowboy boots, so they remind me of him. lol I love the added hardware, this card has all the masculine touches for sure. I know hubby will love it! Love that he had horses and that horse image you used on the inside is just gorgeous. Hugs, Brenda
