Love & Blessings

I recently treated myself to this Simon Says Stamp Autumn Splendor stencil and pulled out my long-neglected watercolor pencils to add color. I wasn't sure I liked how I added the autumn colors, so I added some sponged tumbled glass distress ink to the white card base to soften the look. Still unhappy with it, I tossed it aside for a while and finished it several days later with a Gerda Steiner image and sentiment, along with an unbranded die-cut that looks like woven burlap. The sentiment was stamped on a Venetian Label die (Gina Marie Designs) and I added the little red heart to the mouse's hands in keeping with the sentiment. The inside has a Thanksgiving sentiment.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

NBUS #20 - use your never before used "schtuff" - stencil

Thanks for stopping by, and for those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wish you a wonderful day! For those who don't celebrate, I wish you all a wonderful day as well! We all have a lot to be thankful for in spite of so many bumps in the roads we travel.

Carol

  4. The background is awesome, sometimes we are our worst critics and so glad you kept it and persevered to make a striking card. The mouse looks right at home amongst the greenery holding his little heart that echoes the sentiment.

Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you have a blessed and peaceful holiday x

  16. Sometimes cards look better when you set them aside. I'm so glad you chose to bring this one back and add the finishing touches. The stenciling is lovely and the mouse is adorable. That burlap die looks just like some sticky grid looking plastic that I have for cards. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day and be safe.
