A Birthday Card for a 2-yr old

It's not often these days that you see two cards in two days from me, but I was in need of making a birthday card for a 2 yr-old and was inspired by a sketch challenge to make this.
The card base is navy blue and I embossed a white piece with a WRMK gemstone ef, then took 2 bits of GinaK designs cardstock in bright colors and cut them to size. I embossed the blue one with a CB Birthday ef, and embossed the smaller panel with a CB numbers ef. adding a die-cut #2 done with glittered gold cardstock. The balloons and hat were from the Tim Holtz crazy dogs & cats add-on collection, with the balloons being heat-embossed with gold on yellow and green cardstock; while the hat was heat-embossed with white on navy and colored with glaze pens to add even more fun colors. The sentiment was heat-embossed with white on navy with a Tim Holtz sentiment. I added 3 gemstones for a little more fun. The twine is from my stash.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Wishing my American friends a wonderful holiday weekend as we celebrate Labor Day. Thanks for stopping by and I wish all my friends everywhere a wonderful weekend as well.

Carol

  17. This birthday card for a boy is so beautifully textured, wow! Great work with the EF and the fun elements added! The navy blue sentiment gives it a masculine feel, but this design could be for a female making the sentiment pink, I think. Well done!!

  18. What a fun birthday card no matter what the age! I love that embossing folder Carol, so pretty. The balloons look great embossed in gold on top of the colored cardstock. A great use of the other two embossing folders too, I will have to keep this in mind! Love the paper you stamped the hat on too, so fun, so festive! Hugs, Brenda
