Masculine Birthday

I saw these cards on Brenda's blog and knew I had to CASE them, so I made this one for our neighbor who celebrated his birthday back in March. I used snippets of coordinating plaid dsp along with some black. Instead of real buttons, I used I.O. die-cut buttons and shredded strips of white card stock to weave through the holes for "thread." The SSS sentiment was heat-embossed with white on black. Instead of using a tag, I placed the sentiment on the pocket and tucked some cash inside the pocket. The recipient loved the card and asked how I made it! LOL I had to tell him it was a stolen design from someone else who thought of it first LOL

I'd like to enter this into the Snippet's Playground challenge #377 as all the plaid and button pieces were snippets.

I hope today finds each one of you well and coping with the ways of the world. Take care and thanks for stopping by!

  4. Carol, this card is so creative. Really like the paper you chose. I might steal it too. Sorry to hear about your window. I know that everyone is going through a lot right now. So buckets to catch water in my dining room is a small thing considering what others are going through.

  6. Oh blimey this is awesome Carol, its definitely masculine but the little touches like the paper threaded through the buttons and the offset black just make the design. I have a hubby who'd love a shirt like this for Summer :) x

I love the idea of placing cash in the pocket too. Gift cards would work too, but who is going out to get gift cards right now so cash really is great?! lol Hugs, Brenda

  13. I love your take on Brenda's cards, Carol! Of course, I'm swooning over the plaid, but I love how this looks like today's moderns scrubs. This design would be perfect for the hero challenges that are around to honor the front-line workers! Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Darnell
