Something New

This image by Stampendous called "Filly Sketch" just came in the mail on Monday, so it's brand new. I stamped the image with dark brown ink on a kraft base and used a combo of neglected colored pencils, markers, and water color crayons to color the image, but I held off using water to blend everything because I liked the penciled-in look just the way it was. The sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy done in dark brown and I'm shocked to see that I was able to make a one-layer card! For a layer-it-up girl, this was quite an accomplishment for me :)

I'm going to share this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "something new."

I hope everyone had a fun kick-off to the new year and thanks for the visit today as always! Have a great day!

Carol

  5. Wow, this came out beautiful Carol! I love this image for one, but your coloring of it looks amazing. I'm glad you didn't use water too because I love the way it looks, kinda' sketchy looking which works perfectly. A one layer card, can't believe you did a one layer card. lol Well done! You are starting the New Year out right! Hugs, Brenda

  11. Your card is beautiful, Carol! I really love how you colored it and did not add water to smooth out the colors. I think it shows the details much better. I especially love that this is a one layer card!!! Kudo's to you for creating such a beautiful work of art on a one layer because that is such a tough thing for me, too! TFS and Happy New Year! :)
