Anniversary Rose

I made this card for a friend's anniversary and it all started with the water colored background. I just smeared several colors of distress ink on a craft mat, spritzed with water, and then dabbed the paper in to add some color. After it dried, I embossed it with a stencil to add a little interest, then die-cut it with a stitched die. The rose is by Stampendous, colored with Copics and clear-embossed before fussy cutting. The leaves are by Hero arts, fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals. The card base is PTI Berry Sorbet where I used a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, and the white heat-embossed sentiment is by SU! I added a few Nuvo glitter drops on the leaves just for fun.

I'm sharing this with the Happy Little Stampers August Watercolour challenge where there is an option to use flowers.

Thanks for the visit, it's always great to have you, and I wish you a wonderful day.

Carol

  2. BEAUTIFUL PLUS! The rose looks so real - along with those dark colored leaves too. It's like it came from a garden. Very pretty background too. Your friend will love this Carol.
(You're going to have to explain to me how you do those Nuvo drops and they're so perfect. Mine always end up having this "tail" at the top!)
