I resolved to continue making Christmas cards all year long and with so many great challenges out there to help me accomplish my goals, how can I lose?
Today I began with a kraft card base and stamped it with white ink using random snowflakes. Next I die-cut a white panel with a stitched rectangle die, adding a MB pine needle border that I dotted with liquid applique and then heat-set it. I attached a piece of silver and red ribbon to the top, and added a Unity sentiment. Next I pulled out my long-unloved (and retired ) SU! ornament punch and cut several ornaments, scoring them in the center and attaching them to one another until it was full enough to suit me. I edged each ornament with silver stickles and attached it with a piece of silver/grey twisted twine. I tried putting a little bow on top, but it didn't work because the ornament has too much bulk to attach one. So this is the finished card and by the way, that ornament folds flat for mailing - I like that!

Oh Wow!! I may have to dust off my punch and case this one! Wonder if my liquid applique is all dried up? Look at you keeping ahead of the game. I should make myself make a Fall and Christmas card for every 10/12cards that I make. I'd be way ahead come Fall if I did! I'm working on springish stuff now.

ReplyDeleteThe folding technique is really useful and lovely! As the past trees, this bauble looks great with its 3D look and is just perfect for Christmas challenges.
The kraft base with snowflakes surprised me: I thought that it was a dp!! :D

I never thought to do that with this punch but might have to try it out. lol Should do this with a lot of punches and such as it is such a cool effect and I love too that it lies flat for mailing. Win, win! Stay warm my friend and enjoy this warm up this weekend. I'm so over winter and can't wait for spring.
