Purple & Green Sympathy Card

When I'm in the mood, I make several sympathy cards just to keep on hand, and this is one of those cards. I began with a Gina K cardstock base of Wild Lilac, embossed a frame with a Spellbinders scalloped petite oval, and added a white die-cut petite oval to the center. The flower was cut with a Darice Daisy die in Wild Lilac, Gumball Green, and Basic Black, and I fussy cut the lilac flowers to glue right on top of the green. The black flower centers seemed to balance all the colors together for me. The sentiment was done with SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes and 2 SU! punches.

I'm sharing this with the Cards in Envy challenge - to use purple and green colors. How could I not play along with this challenge as purple and green is my favorite color combination!?

Have a happy Monday and take good care!

A really lovely sympathy card Carol. I think it's a good idea to have a few at hand although I always seem to leave it until they're needed which makes it difficult sometimes to know what to do. Barbxx

That is very pretty! I love your take on the purple and green challenge. I agree, it is so much easier to have a stash of sympathy cards on hand, and this is very nice.

So pretty! I seem to do the same thing. Usually when I do a pretty floral or a peaceful scene, I turn it into a sympathy. Purple and green is such a perfect combo. Sending hugs.

Glad that you were 'in the mood' cause this is a real pretty one. Love the dimensional blossoms over the CAS white oval, and the scallop embossed frame that sets it off. Hope you're feeling better. TFS & Have a good week. Hugs

Before I read your whole post, I thought to myself "Carol made a card with her favorite colors, how nice". That came out very nice. I love the embossing on the ovals and of course the colors are perfect. Have a great evening.

Seriously? Card Envy (which I always mean to join but don't) is having PURPLE and GREEN as a combo? I have to join that as I love purple and green, and so many people don't get it. I'm glad to see that you are enlightened, Carol!

Your purple and green card is very nice. I like the not cut embossed borders to highlight your flowers. Such a pretty purple too!

This is so pretty, I really like the colour combo too. That is a very nice flower die as well, and the embossed border looks great.

Hi Carol!

Let's just say if all my purple and green cards turned out like yours... then purple and green would be my favorite color combo as well.

Love this pretty sympathy card. They are so hard to make, and this one is perfect.

Thanks so much for joining us at Cards in Envy. :)
