Owl be Seeing you!

Here's a card I made while trying to reduct my supply of retired Sage Shadow card stock. I paired it with black and Very Vanilla to meet two different challenges. I used a SU! owl punch for the bird, and a SU! bird punch for the branch. The background embossing was done with a CB Geometric Rings ef, while the button border was done with a CB strip ef and enhanced with a fine black marker to make it stand out a little bit. The owl's vest was embossed with a SU! square lattice ef to add more texture. I added a piece of retired SU! ribbon for the lower border, and the final touch was a MFP stamped sentiment from their "Owl be Here" stamp set.

I based this card on the OWH sketch # 243, and used the button border for the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #239 to make a border with circles. I was inspired by this pretty card from Shirley to pull out that button ef and use it again! I put another button border on the inside, but forgot to take a 2nd picture :)

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful Sunday!

Carol

  17. What an adorable way to use up some of your retired cardstock, Carol! I have a huge stash of this color myself, and might need to "borrow" your color combo -- it's so striking! That owl is super cute, all the more so for the embossed belly. Love the variety of embossing on this!
