A Tri-Fold Shutter Card in Non-traditional Colors

I made a tri-fold shutter card using Sandy's new template which allows for more room to write inside. I'm entering this card into the Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #136 to make a Christmas card without traditional red & green colors. I used shades of purple, blue and grey and some gorgeous papers from the Echo Park winter wishes dsp pad. I just love these gorgeous designs and elements and the colors sing to me :) The images and sentiments were done with G studio stamps, and I added some felt snowflakes and a few brads, along with some diamond stickles here and there.

Here's a better view of the inside when it's opened fully. The back panel if left blank would leave lots of room to write a message, but I opted to add a piece of pretty dsp instead. You can click either of the photos for a larger view.

If you click the link above, you'll find a template for the old type tri-fold shutter card, along with Sandy's new one. I really like the fact that this card fits perfectly inside an A2 envelope! Yay!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great week!

Carol

  1. Another WOW card! Love the tri fold and the colors you used! I would have never thought to use a little purple with the blue and yet it's beautiful!

  2. This is super pretty, Carol. Those papers ARE gorgeous. I love the inside paper. Your felt snowflakes are so pretty. Great color choices as it still has the winter/Christmas feel without the normal colors. Enjoy your beautiful day tomorrow.

  3. I have never made one of these, but I sure am itching to try now. This is just adorable, Carol. Purple and aqua is one of my very favorite winter color combos!

  4. I really like your card and the colors that you used. I like the tri shutter cards and have made several, but I didn't like the fact that they were hard to write a note inside. I like Sandy's version a lot and want to give it a try, thanks for sharing the link.
