July 4th Cards

I know July 4th has come and gone for this year, but I wanted to share a couple cards I made that never got posted. I saw a card like this on Pinterest and loved the simple design, so I made a couple of my own. This uses red, white, navy, and kraft, and I used a SU! mini punch to cut/swap the stars into the fishtail banners. Those fishtail banners were just strips of cardstock that were punched on one end with a hexagon punch to create the banner look. Easy! The SU! sentiment was done with Navy Ink and I used some red, white, and blue twisted twine to wrap around the kraft panel and tie a bow. Here's the inside...

My friend Mary Anne shared a few Calendar designer papers with me, so I cut out the month of July, added a punched red star over the 4, and added a strip of navy stars dsp horizontally across the bottom, along with a background of white stars on light blue. The word "Happy" was die-cut with an Echo Park Happy Easter die using red cardstock.
I liked this so much, I decided to make a 2nd card...

This is made like the one above only I used a royal shade of blue instead of navy.

For the inside of this one, I used the royal cardstock instead of designer paper.

I'm going to enter the first card into the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps
JFF July 2018 color challenge - use red, white, and blue. The challenge is open until the end of the month so I decided to get these posted late instead of never.

Thanks for stopping by and here's wishing you a fantastic weekend!

All your cards are very nicely done. I must admit I took a double take when I saw July 4th...(Keep in mine sometimes I don't know what day it is anymore...smile. (It made me wonder for a second what month we were in...Oh no, I think I'm in trouble...)

Red white and blue, looks fabulous together at the best of times but on a patriotic card, it is special...nicely created.

Very nice 4th of July creations! I really love that twine you have. I also like the brighter version with the royal blue - it stands out really nicely on the kraft. Thanks so much for sharing them with JFF’s monthly challenge!
