for a Special Pooch!

We have dear neighbors who have a dachshund named Maddy who owns them, and they often walk down and sit on the porch with us in nice weather. Maddy celebrated her 11th birthday recently, so I made her a little crate with a bag of treats. The crate was done with a SU! die, and embossed with a Darice ef and sponged for a little weathering. Rather than re-package the treats, I left the bag sealed and just folded the top over and it fit perfectly into the crate! I tied the thick twine from SU around the folded top, and attached a tiny die-cut tag from MFT with her name hand printed with a white marker. I fastened the tag with a snippet of twisted red & white twine. (Maddy wears a red collar which is why I used red accents) The medallion was done with a SB scalloped circle die as well as a MFT stitched circle die and stamped with a SNSS sentiment. I added a few Taylored Expression enamel hearts/dot for fun.

Here's the back of the crate, with a die-cut dachshund by Poppystamps, and a  fence done with a Martha Stewart punch. along with a grassy border done with a SNSS die. I dotted the dog's eye with a fine marker.

Since I decorated the front and back, I decided to decorate the sides too. I used a cute little bone stamp I got in a $1 set at Mike's years ago. The Repeat Impressions sentiment was heat-embossed with white ep on a snippet of red cardstock and cut with a die from SU!'s Hearts a Flutter Framelit set.

Here's the other end, done with another Repeat Impressions stamp embossed on another red snippet.

Since most of this treat package was made with snippets, I'm sharing it over at the Snippets Playground #331.

I'm also sharing with the Dies R Us challenge #101 - which is "birthdays"

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Sunday! It's always a pleasure to have you visit :)

Not only a delightful & detailed design, but SO very thoughtful too, to celebrate Maddy's big day with something especially tailored to her tastes. And her humans can enjoy all the design details while Maddy enjoys those treats! I think this must be one of the best treat boxes I've seen you share, and that's saying something too! Great way to use up a pile of snippets and it certainly turned into a real masterpiece! TFS &hugs.

I think most of our pets own their owners. lol I know Savannah owns me at times! I love this idea Carol and such a cute little gift for a pet or a human with human treats. I can imagine Maddy loved the treats for her birthday! I hope they keep coming over and sitting on the porch with you! Hope you aren't getting washed away with all this rain we have been getting Carol. It is always feast or famine isn't it?! Hugs, Brenda

What a great treat box Carol - and such a lovely thought as well. I love it - and did smile at the fact that the little lady in questions owns her owners! Ain't it always the same :)

This is perfect for your neighbor dog's birthday! I'm sure his owner will be thrilled over it! I know how attached you can become to a dog that isn't yours! I buy presents for one of my neighbor's dogs too! LOVE the way you created that little crate! Thanks for joining our "Birthday" challenge at Dies R Us!
