Trendy Trees

I'm glad the Twofer challenges give us plenty of time to enter our cards, because this challenge always stumps me completely! This month the Twofer Challenge #6 is "trees." I'm learning from all of the talented players in these challenges how to push myself to use stamps for out-of-the-box thinking, so today I'm using the SU! retired set of "Trendy Trees" stamps for my cards.

First up I made a thank-you card using SU! Berry Burst and Wild Wasabi cardstocks. I used the SU! Trendy trees to make the flowers! I also used a SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set to make the stems and sentiment on the little tag. I added some mini punched flowers and tiny black gemstones, along with some black enamel dots and a little bow made with pink twine.

For the 2nd card of my Twofer I used the Trendy Trees stamp set to make some trees! There's a novel idea! LOL I added 2 snippets of green designer paper and cut them into rolling hills, adding a couple silhouette doggies along with the missing you sentiment. They look as if they're waiting for someone to come play with them, which is why I made this a "thinking of you" card.

Supplies:
Card 1
Stamps - SU! Trendy Trees (r) and Beautiful Bouquet (stems and sentiment)
Papers/Cardstock - SU! Berry Burst, Wild Wasabi, White. Black
Inks - SU! Berry Burst, Wild Wasabi, Versamark
Dies/Punches -MFT stitched tiny tags, Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies, SU! mini flower punch (R)
Embellishments - black gems from Pizzazz Aplenty, black enamel dots from Taylored Expressions, pink twine, SU! white ep

Card 2
Stamps - SU! Trendy Trees, Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment)
Papers/Cardstock - random snippets
Dies/Punches - Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside dies, Mama Elephant Framed Tags-Park Avenue,  Impression Obsession dogs, SU! large and small oval punches
Inks - Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

These are both clever cards making use of that stamp set which I have lurking somewhere - must dig it out and have a play because it hasn't been used in ages (too many stamps, too little time) you know how it is!!

Look at you being conventional with your sweet silhouette doggies card and being unconventional with your pretty thank you bouquet card! I love them both, Carol! The colors and designs are so awesome and wonderfully executed!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #6! Hugs, Darnell

Both cards are stunning Carol! I am loving the tree set you used, the "leaves" make great flowers. Was the flower stems in this set or did you used another flower stem? Love it and it works so perfectly with the "leaves". I also love your beautiful tree card, The colors are so soft and pretty and the touch of black is just perfect. Love the papers you used for the hills and of course love those sweet pups. Well done! You aren't alone in being stumped on these challenges, as I to have a hard time thinking out of the box each time a new challenge comes along. lol Hugs, Brenda

You are always so clever, my friend!! Wow! Such fab idea using the trees to make those striking flowers, they remember me the fireworks!! The tiny flowers in the centre are so cute and the black tag with the twine compliment your card so well!
Love the second card too, those dog silhouettes looking to the sentiment make me smile and the patterned hills are so beautiful!! You have created a lovely scene!!
