Masculine Birthday Cards

I love the paper pack of "wood textures" from SU! and have been making a lot of cards with it lately. I chose 2 different pieces and matted them with early espresso cardstock, then placed them on a vanilla card base. The SNSS sentiment was heat-embossed with white ep on another strip of dsp from the pack and matted with vanilla. I added a photo turn and brad from my long-neglected tin of hardware to make this card for the following challenge:

While I had that paper pack out, I decided to make a 2nd card.

For this one I used another piece of hardware in a vanilla color. I put the heat-embossed sentiment inside of that metal and attached it with brown twine. The Birthday sentiment was die cut with a Gina Marie Designs Birthday die in vanilla and early espresso, and I layered one over the other for a little dimension and highlights. I keep wanting to add brads to the left side of the lower portion, but for now I'm leaving it blank.

I'm sharing this card over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is anything goes.

Thanks for checking in with me today and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Carol

These are just fabulous Carol!! I agree with you about these papers!! I have a stack of them just sitting with my other papers and have them "up front" to use them just for the occasion of male style cards!! You've done a brilliant job and I thank you for the inspiration and reminder!! HUGS

Love these wooden patterns, they are really perfect for a rustic and masculine feel! Both your cards look amazing, and love very much the second one! So clever design with the stunning hardware label and the doubled string, wow!!!
