It's All About the Dress

I wanted to play along with the SOS #344 National Dress Day challenge so here I am sliding in just hours before the challenge closes! I dug into my stash and found remnants of a very old retired SU! Secret Garden scrapbook kit and pulled out some groovy guava, river rock and old olive cardstock along with a couple snippets of matching dsp. I used a retired SU! dress up die set to cut the dress and dress form, and added a pearl necklace with a liquid pearl pen. I made some bodice trim for the top of the dress along with a matching belt by cutting a strip of guava dsp and placing a tiny sticker from the kit in the center of the belt. I added a border done with a MS doily lace punch and added some stick-on rose embellies I've had for eons, adding a smaller one to the belt. The sentiment is SU! teeny tiny wishes and the tiny border strips are stickers from the kit that added just the right amount of color to balance the card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Sunday!

Carol

I would totally wear that dress. How pretty is this!?

Hey, did you get to the stamp show? I went yesterday and it was fun to see all the brands of stamps in one big room and see all the demos.

Great choice of colors, these greens are elegant and just perfect for a dress and it's background, and the touch of pink is just delicious!! Stunning mannequin and dress, that rose on the necklace looks gorgeous and such fab border on the left with those matching roses!! Really a super card for Mum!! :D

So cool. I don't have any 'clothing' dies - and I always loved playing with paper dolls as a kid. That's what this pretty frock put me in mind of, and how you could use this set with some of the pretty DP to just create a whole wardrobe. Love the rosette belt trim and the pearls. Lots of attention to detail with the top of the lacey camisole peeking out from the neckline. The texture of the beige paper works great to show off the mannequin, and of course the lacey border with the fab rose buttons! TFS & Hugs

My comment just went away!
Just said your card is fabulous, and if I had that dress die, I'd cut through all my patterned paper playing with it! Your coordinating colors rock, and that tiny pearl necklace is the best! Thank you for sharing with us last challenge at Shopping Our Stash!
