Season's Tweetings

I made a Christmas card today with a Lawn Fawn stamp set called Season's Tweetings. I colored the little birdies with Copics, adding some liquid applique to the little beanie. I used stitched hillside dies (also from Lawn Fawn) to make the snowy hills and stamped the musical notes in red and blue. The squares were die-cut with stitched squares, while the blue panel was die cut with stitched rectangles. I got a big ink smudge on the very bottom of the card, so I die cut another stitched rectangle edge and trimmed it to cover the boo-boo. Actually, I think it balanced the card out nicely with color. I wanted to add some glitter to the hillsides, but this will be going to cards for hospitalized kids and they don't allow glitter, so it's just plain snowy hillsides :)

I'm entering this into the Christmas always Jingle Belles "We Three Kings" challenge which is calling for multiples of 3........just hours before the deadline! Talk about sliding in on the seat of your pants! Whew! But I made it :)

I'm also adding it to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "layer it up."

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Carol

Hi Carol, great thinking to cover your smudge and it looks like part of the design. I like the extended branch and the birds look so sweet, nice card x

I think your "boo boo" made for a perfect accent to your card! Love the touch of blue at the bottom like that. Your whole layout is cool! Love the music notes done in the red and blue. It will bring a smile to some child's face for sure!

I have this cute stamp set too, but I haven't yet had time to play with it! You used the birdies so beautifully putting them in the squares and the stitched hillside dies compliments so well the wintry scene! Love the fluffy hat! Well done on covered the smudge with the stitched stripe!! I have never thought what was the reason, it looks perfectly as a part of the design! :D

Lovely card Carol! Such sweet images and a lovely layout. I recently bought this same stamp set (and the dies) for a Playground prize closer to Christmas - even though I won't be doing the huge Christmas draw again I thought that from November or so prizes can be Christmas related :) It's just adorable and my own version won't be a patch on yours!

Hugs
