Masculine Valentine

I've had these silver doilies in my stash for a number of years and decided it was time to use them. I also have some gold ones, so you'll see them in the future soon too! I stamped the background with a new SU! hardwood background stamp, using Salty Ocean distress ink and after it was dry, I sponged all over it with Tumbled Glass ink until I was happy with the color. I glued the doily down, then die-cut a stitched heart from a final snippet of Taken with Teal that was in my stash. I've hoarded that cardstock for a number of years, but I came to grips with the fact that I need to stop hoarding paper - it's ridiculous! LOL The sentiment by Whimsy was heat-embossed with white ep on black and placed across the heart, adding 3 tiny die-cut hearts cut from previous projects. I know this is different, but I like the silver and blue combo and think it will make a decent masculine Valentine.

I'm sharing this with the Shopping our Stash #336 which is "Out with the old and in with the new." The old is that silver doily and teal snippet, while the new is the hardwood stamp and those Distress inks.

I'm also sharing this with the Little Red Wagon #428 Boy oh Boy challenge - make a masculine project.

I'm also sharing it with the Happy Little Stampers January "Anything goes with Dies" challenge. I used the stitched heart die on this card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Carol

The silver valentine looks awesome over the blue wood. Now that is a great looking pairing, and yep, right for a guy, still pretty! TFS & Hugs

Amazing valentine card!! It is just perfect for a male!! This doily looks gorgeous on the beautiful hand-stamped woodgrain and the sentiment is great!! Well done!
I'm a compulsive hoarder LOL :D so I know very well how difficult is using the last little piece of a loved paper :D I have an unopened paper pad from LOTV that I don't use, just because it's retired... I always think that I have to use it, but then I think that I will use it for a great occasion LOL :D You are in right, it's really ridiculous :)
