New Dog

A sweet friend and blogger recently got a Yorkshire terrier and I wanted to make her a card to offer congratulations, so this is what I sent her. The digital image is one I downloaded several years ago, and unfortunately it has no name attached to give the artist credit, but I love how that little dog has it's paws out of the postage stamp box! I framed it with a black panel and then added a die-cut postage stamp mat to go underneath. I left the dog sketch uncolored, but colored the frame edges with a Spectrum Noir marker and added a SNSS sentiment. The vertical panel is a water colored snippet that was embossed with a square lattice ef by SU! I stamped paw prints on white and punched them with a small circle punch, adding them to the panel along with a scalloped punched border made with a retired SU! punch. She's absolutely delighted with her new puppy and is about to welcome a 2nd dog soon too, so I wish her all the happiness in the world with her sweet pooches :)

I'm sharing this with the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies challenge #9 - which is to always use a critter on your anything goes project.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We were invited to a friend's house for dinner and had a really nice time mingling with her very large family and feeling right at home.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Yorky's are the cutest little furries. You always manage to have just the right image, and this one is just adorable. I like that you left it in shades of gray and white, and used the postage stamp matting. Also like the delicate little border treatment. Best wishes to the new friends. Glad you were able to make the journey safely to and from your friends. TFS & Hugs
