My Husband's Anniversary Card

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. WOW! Where have all those years gone? I was completely stumped as to what kind of card to make for him, until I spotted this card by my friend Mary Anne. She'd shared some of the same dsp with me a while ago and I had no clue what to do with it until I saw her card and immediately got the idea to make this card for my husband. I began by using a clockworks ef on white card stock, then embossed it with 2 different gold ep's and placed it on a blue card base. I cut the December calendar month from the sheet of dsp and stamped a red circle from a Lawn Fawn gumball stamp set around the 28th; then stamped the 1968 in brown using a Technique Tuesday Family stamp set. The circle around the year was done with the same TT stamp set and smoky slate ink. The "documented" panel was white embossed on black with a MFT stamp. The 2 hearts were die-cut with SU! framelit dies and heat-embossed with white ep for the "Love You" and gold ep for the "XOXO." The anniversary sentiment is from SNSS. I think he'll like this card, even though it doesn't have a horse on it - something I usually put on his cards.

I will enter this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "anything goes."

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day as this year is quickly drawing to a close!

Belated happy Anniversary wishes. YOu are a few years behind us! I enjoyed reading your designing process, and this turned out so nice. It has just the right 'bling' with the gold emboss background, and perfect to have the calendar with the special date (and that document stamp was the final touch!) I don't think he'll miss the horse one bit! Big hugs, Happy New Year to you both. Hope it is a healthy & happy one too.
