Sympathy Card

When a long-time friend's mother passed away recently, I realized I had no sympathy cards in my stash, so I quickly made this one. I stamped the background with a little wooden leaf stamp (gifted to me by Mary Anne) with Versamark and embossed it with white ep. I also used a stick stamp by Judith for the little speckles, done just like the leaves. I sponged Spun Sugar distressed ink all over the panel, and then used a SB labels 25 for the silver-embossed SU! sentiment, adding some satin ribbon and a few tiny pink gemstones.

I'm sharing this with the Cards in Envy challenge this week which is "Pretty Pastels."

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is just perfect!

Carol

Clean and simply - and absolutely gorgeous! I love the embossing in the background and ribbon placement. We always hate to make these type of cards but I know they family will treasure this one. So lovely

Just lovely. Beautiful pastel, and the white embossing give it just the edge it needs. Right now, I am stuck in Mother's Day mode. Workers keep asking me for more, and I am totally lacking in MD stamps.

Such a pretty card for such a sad occasion. Love all the white embossing on the cardbase and your diecut embossed sentiment. The pink ribbon finishes your card off beautifully, Carol. Your friend will appreciate this card and everything that went into creating it. Hugs~

So soft and soothing. I would have sworn that vellum was involved somehow.

Very soft and pretty. I love the addition of the peg stamping amongst the leaves. Lovely job, especially when you were in a hurry.

Sympathy cards are hard to make Carol, especially when you need them. But you have made a beautiful one my friend! I'm sorry to your loss and your friend's loss. This card though is perfectly done, so soft and comforting. Well done on such a hard card to make. Hugs, Brenda
