Season's Greetings

I finally cut into a piece of 12" designer paper I've had since my scrapbooking days and made a card with it. The front has white snowflakes, while the reverse side is a dark teal color. I found it hard to use on cards because of the big patterns, but cutting just a strip works for this card. I flipped a piece over and cut it to give the horizontal panel a little contrasting mat, and then decided to cut the square elements with it as well. The bottom 2 squares were done with a GMD stitched square die, while the scalloped panel was done with a SU! punch. The snowflake was done with a Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake die and a snippet of pool party cardstock, and I added several clear gemstones along with a Northwoods sentiment.

I'll enter this into the following challenges :

April Rudolph Days Challenge - anything goes as long as it's Christmas

CHNC 330 - anything goes as long as it's Christmas - optional/for a child

CHNC challenge extra for April 2017 - anything goes as long as it's Christmas

Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a great day!

A Lovely "clean" card, the scrapbook paper looks great on this and the square layers are lovely.

Very pretty Christmas card, Carol! I love that piece of patterned paper and all those gorgeous white snowflakes on it! Sometimes when it's a pretty busy piece of paper I will just add a sentiment to it and call it done. The paper does all the work! Love the colors on this and that snowflake with the added rhinestones! TFS and hope your enjoying the nice day! Hugs~

Real good use for the scrapbooking type paper with the big patterns. It is a very pretty card. We have sun today and I'm hoping you do to.

That's a great way to use the larger patterned paper! Love the single snowflake. Hope you don't see any more of them for a while though.

Your scrapbook paper works wonderfully for this card. I like the way you have used the contrasting side as well and the gemstones add some festive sparkle.

Nice to see you were able to use a 12x12 paper. Amazing how using a strip can tone down a pattern we think is too big...Suddenly it looks perfect!

Using the flip side for you mat was a great idea too!

Thanks for taking part in the April Rudolph Days Challenge.

I like the colors of that paper. Good for you for finally cutting into an oldi piece of paper. I know it came be hard sometimes. I'm not a fan of big patterns because they are hard to use for cards. That's why I quit buying DCWV paper packs and I LOVED those. Anyway, good job with the Christmas card.
