Another Card for Mother's Day

The challenge at Cards in Envy is to make a black and white card. A small pop of color is ok too, so here is what I made. I'm not sure I'm fond of these colors for a mother's day card, but it's done, and hopefully someone will like it. I pulled this unknown piece of dsp from a pack I bought without a cover and die-cut the Simon Says Stamp large heart doily in white. I took some red crochet thread and stitched around the inside of the heart for that little pop of color. The sentiment is from SU! and the heart-shaped gemstones are from Hero Arts.

That's all I have for today, but thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

I think the colours look 'classy' and make a lovely card..I am always 'worried' people who buy my cards at the nursing home fetes for fundraising may not like them either BUT then realise if they buy them they like them...so lovely colours.xx ♥[aNNie]

Black and white are certainly not the "traditional" mothers days colors, but I sure do like this and would be happy to receive this from one of my children. Love the stitching around the heart die and the gems feminize the card. Thank you so much for joining us at Cards in Envy for our Black and White Challenge.

I like that your red line is not only a pop of color but it is actual stitching! That really adds something to this card.

The B&W script background makes a very dramatic counterpoint to the delicate heart design, & I love the red crochet thread accent. Now that was a brilliant idea, and certainly offsets the black in a very pretty fashion. Love the sparkle of the tiny red hearts too. I think any Mom would treasure this! TFS
