Digging Deeper into the Stash

OK, I admit it. I hoard favorite craft supplies - like this very old retired Wasabi ribbon from SU! They brought back that color in cardstock recently, but the ribbon? It's been tucked into a little box with some other retired ribbons for far too long. I'm trying to work my way through those adored/hoarded supplies and get them used. This card has mini trees done with a SU! mini punch from Wasabi cardstock, along with a Gina Marie Designs square stitched die-cut panel. The background and mini stitched circles are very vanilla, and I used MFT stitched circle dies to cut them. The postage stamp squares were done with SB dies in Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment is a G Studio stamp I've had for eons.

I had fun making this design, so I made more with different snippet colors...

For this version I added real red, kraft, and gold mirror cardstock for the trees, and a gold-embossed PTI sentiment with a little red/pink/white twine.

And for this one I added some SU! Emerald Envy green cardstock and put this on a white square/card base. The sentiment panel was done with a SB ribbon tag die, stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink and a SU! teeny tiny wishes sentiment, and attached with (gasp!) more retired Cherry Cobbler satin ribbon from SU!

I'm taking these over to share at the Snippets Playground #256 since they were all made with lovingly hoarded snippets of cardstock and ribbon :)
{I may need an intervention}

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Sunday!

OH WOW, Carol.... when your on a roll, your on a ROLL! All 3 cards are so pretty and I am loving this easy card design! Love that little Christmas tree and all the Stitched Dies you used! Wild Wasabi has always been a favorite of mine but in recent years I have started to love Garden Green for everything. I still have a boatload for this ribbon and many others and like you I am trying hard to start using it up. Thanks for sharing these beauties today! Stay warm....those winds are crazy nuts! We actually had some snow last evening. My dogs are wondering why we went from sunny & 70...to cold, windy & snow in the backyard! It's some crazy PA weather for sure! Have a great day! :)

Oh what fun these are Carol - absolutely brilliant use of snippets and such fun colours too! I love that you have one main theme and then each card is a take on that theme - clever stuff! Ha, if you need an intervention you'd better get in the queue girl!

Great upcycling of your snippets Carol!! These cards have a design so clean and elegant, but very interesting, too!! Love the idea to use the little trees in the stitched circles and all in the postage stamp diecuts! Your ideas are always so clever! Love expecially the first one card with the sweet piece of ribbon!
Te ribbon tag in the last one is just fabulous, it gives a great touch to the card!

Who doesn't hoard crafting supplies? I have like 5 drawers stuffed! There's some stuff I just don't want to use because they don't make it anymore! Your card is so lovely! It works well, no one could tell it's something from your stash! Looks bran new and awesome!

Way cool! I think I like the third one best, with the way the greeting is it makes me think of a buckle.

I loved the color wasabi, but I have an icky story about it. I bought a pack of paper in wasabi from a SU demo once and it took her forever to get it to me and when she did it had the plastic wrap off. She said she opened in on accident. Okay, no problem but later when I went to use the paper it was so NOT Stampin' Up. It was flimsy and didn't seem to be the color I remembered it being. Yeah, I think she substituted my high quality SU wasabi for some crud she picked up at craft store. Hrmp.

Anyway, that's a bad note to end on so let me say: GO HOARDERS! It's like Christmas every day because you never know what goodies you will find in your stash next. And it's kind of satisfying to finally use some of it.

Oh wow Carol, you've done a brilliant job bringing out the goodies from your old stash!! Believe it or not, I believe I still have some of this ribbon lurking around in one of drawers!! I think I need to take a hint from you and use it!! Love these inspirational designs!! HUGS :)

Clever & very pretty way to use up some tiny snippets with the fabulous designs layered here as you've done on these cards. Each color is prettier than the one before it. Loving the 'quilt' motif (although you may not have meant it so! it's what popped into my mind immediately). The color scheme on each card is so festive, and works brilliantly for a holiday card. (is there a difference in 'saving' and 'hoarding'? I need to know this!!! LOL) TFS & Hugs
