Deck the Halls

Those Tim Holtz Crazy Birds are still making me smile, so I made a few more Christmas cards with this bird wearing his Santa Hat. I stamped a little sprig of mistletoe with a red ribbon at the top to give him something to watch, while computer generating the sentiment and breaking it up into 3 separate words. I used Gina Marie stitched squares, and Lil Inker stitched rectangles to cut the 2 panels, and placed it on an early espresso card base - which was also die cut with the stitched rectangles. I colored the bird with Copics and used a snippet of retired SU! dsp for the background.

I'm entering this into the September Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge which is "Song." Deck the Halls is a pretty well-known song, right? Fa-la-la-la-la.....la-la-la-la!

Thanks for checking in today and if you're celebrating Labor Day as we are here in the states - make it a great one! Bring on autumn - I'm so ready for cooler weather after this blazing hot summer we've had!

Love your cute bird with his Santa hat. He looks like he's hung his mistletoe and is now puckering up his beak waiting for a kiss! Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers!

I like that you gave him something to look at. I guess he is hoping a young lady bird will wonder by so he can put the mistletoe to good use. I like your separated sentiment. Fun card. We have cooled down quite a bit today but temps are going up as the week progresses. Darn It!!!

Very cute! This birdie looks like he's hopefully waiting under the mistletoe for someone to come along and give him a smooch. Did you know that a some of the Christmas carols have odd names? I learned that after a Christmas party one year.
