Have a Colorful Day!

The Penny Black Saturday challenge for August is to use your favorite technique. I have many favorites, but one of them I use often is to use my leftover strips of dsp and cardstock to create herringbone backgrounds. Here I created one of those backgrounds and embossed it with a chevron embossing folder to make it pop. The PB image was colored with Copics and die-cut with a GinaMarie stitched square. The herringbone panel and dark purple card base were die cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn and I added a couple punched stars for accents. I used the square stitched die to add the stitches to the sentiment panel by cutting one edge at a time.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Love it! My question is.... do you cut the striped panel first and then emboss it or the other way around? I was afraid it would squish the stitched edge.

Cute, Colorful and fun. The background came out great and you did a tremendous job with the making of that sentiment panel. Hope your day is colorful today also.

A colorful day indeed! This is fun. That kitty has a great balloon with the stripy colors, better than a plain one!
