Is it Coffee Yet?

This Stampendous image cracks me up every time I use it LOL The dog reminds me of my grandfather who was always buried in his newspaper while waiting for his coffee to brew! I colored the image with Copics, adding glossy accents to his glasses, and cut it with a Gina Marie stitched square die. The background was done by adhering snippets of cardstock in a random pattern, then using a Hero Arts chevron embossing folder, and cutting it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. The sentiment was a gem my friend Mary Anne found at a stamp show and shared with me a long time ago. The card base is a light celery color, also cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle.

I'm sharing this over at the Snippets Playground #232 - which is always to use snippets.

Thanks for checking in today and I wish you the best day ever!

Carol

Kind of looks like my Grandpa also. Paper and coffee, but my Grandpa also had a cigar with is coffee. (yuck) This is a great card and I love the colorful, textured backdrop for this darling image. Sorry I've been MIA I've been intensely working in the yard to get it all finished so I could take the rest of the summer off.I just have a couple more plants to transplant from side yard to front yard and I should be done for this year. The cards you've made this past week are all fabulous which is no surprise to me. Hope you have a good day and upcoming week. We are getting some rain, heavy tonight, so a lot of knitting and crocheting for me the rest of the day.

This one cracks me up too with the doggy & his newspaper. Great coloring, BTW. You know I love your quilt cards, and how much more dimension you've achieved with the chevron embossing. Perfect sentiment to go with this card...somebody is in for a big smile when it's opened! TFS & Hugs too.

What a fabulous card Carol! This dog cracks me up!!! I guess back in the day a lot of father's and grandfather's read the morning paper while waiting for the coffee to percolate! Now I doubt many know that we used to have to percolate the coffee! Talk about a walk down memory lane! And now a days the newspaper doesn't come in time for breakfast. My how things have changed and not always for the better! Hugs, Brenda

Carol, this makes me smile because it reminds me of my grandfather (God rest his soul) as well. He loved his newspaper and coffee time every morning :)
