CASE-ing Brenda

I recently saw this pretty card and tutorial on Brenda's blog and knew I wanted to give this technique a try, so I pulled out my SU! Fabulous Flowers stamp set (r) and got to work. I stamped the image in Spun Sugar distress ink so I'd have the lighter color to work with, then die cut the center panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. I colored the panel with Copics; outlining the petals with a fine black marker before inserting it back into the larger piece. I cut all the panels with Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies and added a SU! (r) thank you sentiment along with some Pizzazz Aplenty pink gemstones. After I finished this, I decided to make another one using a different flower stamp........

This one was done with just one cut panel instead of 2, and I used the (r) SU! Blended Bloom stamp, again coloring just the insert piece before putting it back into the card base. I added a SNSS sentiment along with some Copic-colored snippets to match the big flower, punching them out with SU! mini punches and dotting the centers with tiny black gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I'm happy with how they turned out, so thanks for that fun tutorial Brenda - I'm surely going to make more of these in the future :) Go have yourself a wonderful day now, and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

These are awesome! I still don't understand how you did the top card after seeing Brenda's tutorial. This is a way cool technique though and I want to try it sometime.

Wow Wow Wow!!! Such a fabulous design! This positve/negative effect is just amazing with these stitched layers!! Love the pink tones, too, the pink make the flowers pop out! You have to be happy for them, they are two fabulous cards, and my favourite is the second one with the SU! Blended Bloom... You know well that I love it! :D and with the orange center the flower speaks itself!! Fabulous, my friend, a truly delight!
Hugs, it's time to sleep for me...

I really love the little flowers you added to the bottom of your second card. Glad you like the tutorial! And thanks to you, I am now the proud owner (or as soon as they get here) of those beautiful swans! You so enabled me to get them! Hugs, Brenda
