Watercolor Birthday Cards

I'm clearly still stuck on these Ranger Distress ink colors of Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron, because I made a couple more cards with them. I sponged the cardstock randomly with the inks, and then let it dry; stamping floral images and adding white highlights to them with a white sharpie. I embossed the lower black panel with a matching floral ef and added a SSS "Happy" die cut, along with a SNSS "Birthday" die cut - both of which were sponged with matching inks before cutting. I added a piece of matching ribbon to separate the 2 panels along with a few turquoise gemstones to the top right flower center for a little sparkle.

This one was done slightly different. For this background, I used Ranger Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron inks, but also added a touch of Spun Sugar ink to the mix and then sponged in white ink circles to do the Bokeh technique before stamping the floral images. Other than that - it was created much like the first one.

I'm sharing these with the Little Red Wagon challenge #335 - "For the Love of Water (watercolor)

I'm also sharing them with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "Anything Goes" where they're featuring Ranger products.

Wishing you a colorful day and a great week ahead! Thanks for taking a few moments from your day to stop by!

Carol

Very pretty, I love both color combinations! I have just gotten the twisted citron color, but have a lot of the newer colors on my wish list. Fun idea to add the Bokeh dots too!

Two wonderful cards, the first one expecially for the colours, and the second one for the gorgous detail of Bokeh technique! In both them the embossed background looks great and matches perfectly with the stamps! Fun diecut for the "Birthday" word, love it!
