Easter Treat Mug

I made this "mug" for Easter treats by following this tutorial and using snippets of cardstock and DSP from SU! I have a neighbor/friend who doesn't eat candy (gasp!) but she likes a certain kind of granola bar, so I thought this mug would be perfect for holding a few of her favorite bars in different flavors. I didn't follow directions accurately (no surprise there) so I had to improvise once I adhered the dsp incorrectly. I cut a few banners and adhered some punched flowers with mini brads to cover up the boo boos, but I liked the way it turned out probably a bit more than the plain version. I used my Big Shot to cut the framelit tag tied to the ribbon, as well as the oval die cut used to create the mug handle. I tied the cellophane bag with matching Hello Honey twill ribbon, and the cardstock base is Blackberry Bliss. There is a fancy label punched sentiment panel that says "Happy Easter" but it's hiding under the framelit tag.

I'm entering this into the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge which is "Happy Easter"

I'm also sharing this with Pixie's Snippets Playground #220- which is always to use snippets.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day too!

That is a clever project! I like that you just moved on to fix your boo boos instead of starting over. The colors are great, I bet your neighbor will love it!

It's a lovely Easter gift carol and looks really pretty. I made a mug similar to yours at a workshop last year and wouldn't have thought to use it for Easter. Thanks for sharing Barbxx

Who doesn't like candy? I have to say I may have to CASE thins for my granddaughter and her boyfriend as they are into Cliff Bars and no candy trying to get into shape for hiking Mt. Washington this summer. This is a nice change from just the plain cello bags with the top note as a topper. Thanks for a wonderful idea. Besides looking at your beautiful creations I get some wonderful ideas from you. Thanks a bunch. Have a fantastic day.

I have seen these papercrafted mugs about but would NEVER attempt to have a go at making one so I take my hat off to you for having a go Carol. I think yours has turned out just fine and dandy! Your neighbour will love it.

No good for hooch though . . .

Great colors for this fun project. Tell your friend that I can relate. I'm not big into candy (but cookies.... that's a whole other story).
