Little Santa Claws

I have an early Christmas card for 2016 that makes use of an adorable Whimsy stamp and die that I just won by leaving a comment during a blog hop! How lucky am I?! I thought this little pooch was adorable in his Santa hat so I had to have him. The ribbon slide die was part of my prize, so I layered it with punched and die-cut circles, adding a MFP sentiment to the center. The image was colored with Copics and I added some liquid applique to the hat to look like fur. The background was done with a Sizzix ef, and the ribbon was from my stash. This card will be going into my Cards for Hospitalized Kids box for next year.

I'm entering this into the Tuesday Throwdown #276 which is to add dimension.

I'm also entering it into the Shopping our Stash #234 "something new" challenge. The image and ribbon slide are my new items.

I hope your day is wonderful and that you're staying warm if it's cold where you live! Thanks for checking in :)

Awww... what a sweetie. That precious pup pairs wonderfully with that gingham ribbon. I have some new goodies so I think I can play along with SOS two weeks in a row. Wouldn't that be something?!

Congrats for your won, Carol, this puppy is just adorable!! You have used it very well in this card!! Love the hat with the liquid applique, it looks great! And you have coloured the doggie perfectly! I haven't seen before a ribbon slide die, fabulous and perfect layered with the circle for matching with your gingham ribbon! Love so much also the holly embossed background, very strong embossing, gives a great texture!

What a precious little "baby" in that darling Santa hat. The ribbon slide worked perfectly with your punches and dies. With a face like his I'm sure he is going to get a lot of treats next Christmas and this card will be a treat for any child but especially one that is hospitalized. Have a great, warm night. It is terribly cold here and the wind is howling to beat the band. Molly won't even go outside. Too Cold for her.

I can see why you just had to have this one! He's totally adorable, and I'm loving the applique texture on his hat (I have never been able to be successful with that stuff!) His expression just makes me want to cuddle him up close, and the nice green embossed background is perfect too. Congratulations on your fun win. TFS & Hugs too.
